Salva does not record video or audio from your screen or microphone. Screen Sentinel, our content monitoring feature, scans on-screen text entirely on-device to detect potentially age-inappropriate content. Only category labels, app names, and short snippets (max 100 characters) are stored as content alerts — no raw screen text is ever transmitted to any server.

When you create a household for family management, some data is synced to our cloud (Supabase) — including device nicknames, protection rules, content alerts, and subscription status. All cloud-synced data is limited to what's necessary for household management. You can delete your data at any time through the in-app 'Delete My Data' feature. Depending on your settings, you can unlock by performing a specific tap pattern, entering a PIN, using a biometric (fingerprint), or shaking the device. You choose the unlock method that works best for you.

Salva is designed to be lightweight and battery-friendly. The transparent overlay consumes minimal resources. Pocket Mode uses the proximity sensor, which is also very low-power. Most users report minimal to no noticeable impact on battery life.

Yes. Salva's overlay blocks touch input without interfering with audio or video. You can lock the screen during a call to prevent accidental mutes, hang-ups, or app switches.

Not yet, but we’ve heard this request from many users and it’s currently in development. Partial Block will let you define which area of the screen is locked while leaving specific controls accessible. Stay tuned for an upcoming update.

Yes. Salva is designed with families in mind. When the overlay is active, children can see the screen but cannot interact with it. Parents unlock using a PIN or biometric, so kids can't disable protection on their own.

Screen Sentinel is Salva's on-device content monitoring feature. It scans on-screen text using Android's Accessibility Service to detect potentially age-inappropriate content and alerts parents. All scanning happens entirely on-device — no raw screen text is sent to any server. It's a supplementary tool designed to work alongside active parental supervision, not replace it.

Yes. All paid plans include a 7-day free trial, managed by the app. Only one trial is allowed per Google account. There is no automatic charge at trial end — when the trial expires, Salva reverts to the Free plan unless you actively choose a paid subscription.

This includes your email, device nicknames, protection rules, content alert metadata, subscription status, and activity logs. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). You can delete all cloud data at any time through the in-app 'Delete My Data' feature or by emailing [email protected].

Open Salva on the new device, sign in with your parent account (Google Sign-In or email + password), and select your household. The device will appear in your Family Dashboard automatically. You can rename devices, assign rules, and manage them remotely from any parent device in the household.
